He describes the self-sufficient lifestyle of his family and the other early colonists - how they made built their own homes, made their own clothes, and raised their own food. He describes life as a soldier during the American Revolution -what they wore, where they slept, what they ate, and how they fought. Oliver's uncle describes the life of a businessman during Revolutionary War Times.
