eBooks in Schools

Attached is a Quicktime movie of the presentation file that I shared at our local ebook summit. Based on that discussion, the SLS and Media Library are looking to move forward with a hosted ebook platform such as the service offered by OverDrive. This would allow us to provide content for district-owned ebook readers. Depending on the disbursement of state funding for the SLS, this program might start as early as this year.

Please let me know if you have additional questions or would like me to come meet with you or staff from your school about ebooks. I am serving on an ALA task force about ebooks and equitable access for libraries and so am receiving regular updates on the topic.
