Julie Crowell (York Elementary) gets shout out from author Laurie Keller

Laurie Keller, an author who recently visited the region through the Visiting Author service from the School Library System, gave a big shout out to York Elementary librarian Julie Crowell. As Keller noted: "I’ve been doing school visits for quite awhile now and I’m still blown away when I see how much effort librarians, teachers and kids put into making the day so special and so much fun. GREAT JOB, JULIE, BRANDY and all the YORK STUDENTS! Thank you for making me feel so welcome!" The students worked to decorate the library based on themes from Keller's books and even painted special chairs for the author visit.
