Week 6 - Winning Support and Fostering Education About Social Software
All the tools we have been learning about are useless if you can not get support for them in your organization. This week, we will discuss challenges that frequently occur when planning and implementing social software in libraries. With any new endevour there are always obstacles, but dealing with them productively can be frustrating and time consumming. Always use the allies you have to create more and remember that a little patience can go a very long way.
Objectives This Week
At the end of this week, you should understand:
- how to sell and teach new technologies to your colleagues and administrators.
- how to work better with IT to implement technology solutions.
- how to plan for the implementation of new technologies, including creating policies.
- how to present new technologies to your patrons.
